NEW 7 Wonders of the World (N7W)

N7W is a program conducted by NewOpenWorld Corporation (NOWC) with New7Wonders trademark logo and all who are being subject unto the provisions of the Canton of Zurich / Switzerland law. NEW 7 Wonders updated the list of the 7 Wonders of the World with more recent concept by doing some kind of Polling / Voting (election). This kind of polling was popularized by a Canadian-Swiss, Bernard Weber, and organized and controlled by the New7Wonders Foundation which was founded in 2001 in Switzerland.

7 Wonders of the World refers to guidebook that are very popular in the Hellenistic era (Hellenistic period) which is around Alexander the Great era, around the 1st and 2nd BC. The book contains an explanation of a very charming and nice building. One of the guidebook is Antipater of Sidon and an observer book titled Philon of Byzantine that tells 7 Wonders of the World Around Mediterranean hemisphere. From the list of the book, only Gyza Pyramids (Great Pyramid of Giza) left.

The conquest of the Greece Kingdom to the various other hemisphere causing an easy access of journey to various regions such as the local colony of Egyptians, Persians, and Babylonians. This is led to the great knowledge of people to some great many buildings in the conquered areas which is then recorded in a summary book (Compendium). The book summary then is entitled "theamata" which means "things that must be seen" or "Things to be seen" or "must-sees." From the original Greek word "Efta thaumata kosmou tou" which means "Seven Wonders of the World" or "Seven Miracles of the world". This book is a summary guide (Guidebook) to have some kind of journey at that time. Every adventurer / explorer at that time has itheor own version of book, but one of the most popular enough is a summary of the book which is written in the form of poetry, is "Antipater of Sidon," which was made around year 140 BC (BCE).

There are so many versions of the book about the 7 Wonders of the World appears based on the explorers’ experiences and explorations. One other guidebook that is similar to the book of Antipater of Sidon, is Philon of Byzantium, which also mentions "The Seven Sights of the World". Even later, the Eighth Wonder of the World (8 Wonders of the World) also appears, though not so popular.

In the latest program of the New 7 Wonders of the World (N7W), voting / polling is made to choose the New7Wonders of Nature (7 Wonders of the World Category Nature. The campaign program itself will be begun at 2007 and will be ended on November 11, 2011 (11:11:11)
